Carol being interviewed by Sarah Champion of Absolute Radio

Below is a review of T'Pau's performance at the Isle Of Wight's Festival, as featured in the 'on-line' publication : 'Isla Magazine' - Official magazine for the Isle Of Wight Festival 2013, produced by students from Southampton Solent University.

The review begins, as most reviews including Carol begin, mentioning the "powerful voice" and "mass of red hair" and the fact that she is the "distinctive icon of T'Pau".  Carol has always had this ability to captivate her audiences and 'draw them in', as much now as she did 25 years ago!

It took Carol just 3 lines of the opening song 'Sex Talk' before the Big Top tent was full of  dancing festival-goers.  The tent was packed to capacity!

Carol said to Sarah Champion of Absolute Radio that she was a little nervous beforehand because this wasn't an 80's festival like Rewind or Here And Now and the people there weren't necessarily there to see her, but as the tent was full to its capacity of around 5000, Carol had nothing to worry about!!

Carol was "dressed in a leather coat that she refused to remove in the name of style, despite the temperature", and had the audience "clapping and chanting without a falter in her vocal performance".

The review goes on to say "Carol's voice is as faultless as ever as she goes from soaring choruses to low pitched growls to a hushed whisper".

The number of people that have said, whether it be on the T'Pau25 Official FaceBook page, or on Twitter or at the gigs themselves, that Carol's vocals are as strong as ever, and that, they most definitely are!!

"It was the performance of 'Heart And Soul' where Carol really showed what she was really capable of.  She commanded the audience with ease and even had the security guards dancing along!"

The review mentions how the band has stayed "remarkably youthful" in the 25th anniversary, "possibly due to the addition of lead guitarist James Ashby, despite being dressed in a suitably 80's skin-tight leopard print shirt, at 23 he wasn't even born when the band released their first album!!"

It was inevitable that 'one' song would "get the biggest reaction".  "When the first bars of 'China In Your Hand' were played, everybody prepared their lungs for a full-on sing-a-long.  With the Big Top at maximum capacity, thousands of voices nearly ran the risk of drowning out the band!!"

You could tell Carol was very proud to be up on that stage as the band had "killed it".  She was very honoured to be asked to play at the festival and said "I do lots of festivals, but I've never done one like this before.  It's like a city here!"
